Take the guesswork out of great work.

There’s something satisfying about getting the numbers right. Not just close, but accurate. When you know how to read a spec, build a picture in your head, and turn that into a winning bid that’s realistic, profitable, and sharp. That’s what this role is all about.

We’re working with a successful North-West based M&E contractor to help them find a skilled Electrical Estimator. Someone who knows how to price a job properly, communicate clearly with clients and suppliers, and support the commercial team with calm, focused energy.

Job Title: Electrical Estimator
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 + benefits
Location: Liverpool
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

About the Company

Our client is a well-established M&E contractor operating across commercial, retail, healthcare, and education sectors. They’ve been around long enough to have a strong reputation, but they’re still growing and evolving.

The team is collaborative, the culture is supportive, and the projects are varied.

This isn’t a corporate machine where you’ll feel like just another cog. It’s a business that values your ideas, your accuracy, and your experience.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll join the pre-construction and commercial team, taking ownership of electrical tenders from receipt through to submission. That means working with drawings and specifications, liaising with suppliers for quotes, building BOQs, and ensuring tenders are returned on time and on point.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing tender documentation and identifying key requirements

  • Preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates

  • Working with internal teams to ensure tender accuracy and clarity

  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and suppliers to gather relevant information

  • Attending pre and post-tender meetings when required

  • Supporting the handover process to operational teams after contract award

You’ll be pricing projects across a range of sectors, mostly within the North-West. You won’t be thrown in the deep end without support, but you will be trusted to own your work.

Skills & Experience Required

Experience matters, but so does approach. You’ll need a good understanding of electrical systems, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Just as importantly, you’ll need to be organised, methodical, and confident dealing with others. Here’s what will help you succeed in this role:

  • Previous experience in electrical estimating within the building services sector

  • Solid understanding of commercial and industrial electrical installations

  • Comfortable working with estimating software and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong attention to detail and a head for numbers

  • Good communication skills with clients and colleagues alike

  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines

If you’ve ever been the person in the room who spots the thing others miss, you’ll fit right in.

Benefits

  • You won’t be micro-managed. You will be part of a close-knit team that genuinely supports one another.

  • There’s real career progression here too. Whether you want to specialise further or move towards senior commercial leadership, this company has the scale and the attitude to help you grow.

  • The salary is competitive and reflective of your experience, and the benefits package adds genuine value. But beyond the numbers, this is a role where your input is respected and your voice is heard.
