We are currently seeking an M&E Pre-Construction Manager (Mechanical Bias) on behalf of a well-established and reputable engineering firm in the UK building services industry.
Our client is a leading provider of mechanical and electrical engineering services, with a strong presence in sectors such as commercial, healthcare, and industrial. Known for their innovative approach and commitment to quality, they handle projects ranging from £250K to £6M. Their services span the full project lifecycle, from design and pre-construction to installation and facilities management.
Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are seeking a Pre-Construction Manager with a mechanical bias to join their team. This role is critical for the development and planning of new projects, ensuring smooth transitions from concept through to execution.
Position: M&E Pre-Construction Manager (Mechanical Bias)
Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 + car/allowance, bonus & benefits

Key Responsibilities
Lead the pre-construction phase for M&E projects, managing the planning, estimating, and design stages to ensure successful project delivery.
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to gather project requirements and develop comprehensive project plans.
Provide mechanical expertise in early-stage project planning, working with design and engineering teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Prepare detailed project budgets, risk assessments, and timelines, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards.
Maintain strong client relationships, representing the company’s commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
Work across a range of sectors, with projects valued up to £6M.
What We’re Looking For
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Pre-Construction Manager role within the M&E sector, with a strong background in the mechanical sector.
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, project planning, and pre-construction processes.
Proven experience managing pre-construction phases for large-scale projects, particularly within commercial, healthcare, and industrial sectors.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
